History

Father: Ichihara Kenji
Siblings: Satou Sakura (half sister, deceased)
Short Biography: Mikoto was born the son of Satou Momoko (a private seamstress for the Fujimaki clan) and Ichihara Kenji (a warrior for the Fujimaki clan). He was the result of an affair, a child born out of wedlock, and because of this he received his mother's surname. Kenji acknowledged Mikoto as his son, but did not do much in raising him as he was a warrior and did not have time to do so.
Mikoto had a normal childhood for someone who was born into a clan. He played games with the other children, helped his mother with her duties, etc. However, one evening when Kenji had a talk with one of the heads of the clan, it was decided that Mikoto would be in training to be a warrior. He started his training young and in a sense, lost a lot of his childhood.
When Mikoto was ten years old, he gained a half sister by the name of Sakura. By this time, Momoko was becoming known as sort of a very *friendly* person around the area and Sakura's father is unknown. Unfortunately, Sakura died at the age of just three months old, having caught a terrible and incurable sickness.
By the time he was nineteen, Mikoto had become a rather skilled and prideful warrior for the Fujimaki clan. He'd seen several battles, and had emerged with the scars to prove his victory. Everyone thought that he would surely climb his way to the top of the ranks.
When Mikoto was twenty years old, he developed a sort of rivalry with one of the fellow Fujimaki warriors, a twenty one year old man Tomoki. Tomoki was jealous of Mikoto, but he was skilled as well and he was worried that Mikoto would make him stand in his shadow. Over a course of a few months, their rivalry turned into something more violent.
During the middle of the night, Tomoki snuck into Mikoto's sleeping quarters with what he thought was a fool proof plan to murder him and blame it on a servant. However, what he didn't expect was for Mikoto to awaken. The two engaged in a loud fight for their lives that woke many people who were sleeping. In the battle for his life, Mikoto ended up fatally wounding Tomoki. People rushed in to find out what the commotion was just as Tomoki was falling to the floor, dead.
Without waiting for an explanation, or without believing Mikoto's cries, he was quickly exiled from the Fujimaki clan. Now he wanders around Linn without a home, without a place that he has found that he wishes to settle into. He makes money by lending out his services or doing odd jobs, whaever he can find to survive.
Personality: Mikoto is the kind of person that would make a good husband if he weren't too busy wandering around the land. He is thoughtful of others, and always thinks about the consequences before he speaks. He knows the value of kindness and being giving, because it is what he survives off of from other people who it is hard for him to find a job. Mikoto smiles a lot, prefering to keep a positive outlook on life despite what has happened to him in the past. It rarely, but it still happens, when Mikoto will lose his footing and become hopelessly depressed.
Mikoto knows how to seperate his emotions from his job. While he is kind and gentle, polite and respectful.. Mikoto dettaches himself when it comes to doing what he needs to do in order to survive. Once his mind is set in survival mode, all of his inhibitions go out the window and it is like he becomes a different person. In this mode, Mikoto is ruthless and he will stop at nothing until his task is finished. Determined and closed off emotionally, it is almost like Mikoto becomes a machine. Sometimes this can lead to actions that he will later regret once he calms down.
Sample Roleplay
Tobias couldn't sleep. It was typically a regular occurance. As much as he loved his sleep, there were often nights where he would toss and turn. It was getting rather old, the fact that he couldn't seem to let go of the circumstances of his death. Toby hadn't wanted to die. He wasn't ready to die.. and he certainly hadn't been ready to let go of the people he left behind when he died. What bothered him the most was the fact that he left the person that mattered most to him on completely bad terms.
It was absolutely haunting. And tonight, Tobias had taken to roaming aimlessly. His mind wandered, allowing his feet to carry him wherever they pleased without Toby ever paying attention to his surroundings. Everything seemed to blur together, every hallway looked the same.. all of the scenery, there was no difference. Half of the time, Toby didn't even realize that slender fingers were reaching up to tug on messy, loosely tied back blond locks. They didn't even realize that pearled white teeth were slipping forward to bite down on the part of his labret piercing that was on the inside of his mouth. The soft clanking sound of teeth against metal didn't even pull the young shinigami back to his senses.
At least Toby hadn't been so spaced out that he'd forgotten to put on something other than the boxers he normally slept in. Thankfully for him, he'd managed to pull on a pair of his blue jeans. His bare feet slapped against the cold floor gently with each step he took, hands absently pulling his hair over the front of his shoulder so that both fingers could continue to play with it. Death was supposed to be easier, wasn't it? All you were supposed to have to worry about was bringing dead people to the other side and keeping demons away, right? Please your superiors, make them happy.. and exist forever. It was the existing forever part that weighed so heavily on his mind.
Joshua wouldn't exist forever.
Sighing deeply, Toby finally managed to pull himself out of his mindless wandering, brown eyes lifting up to finally take in the scenery from behind those thick rimmed black geek glasses he always wore when he was too lazy to put in contacts. It took him a moment for his vision to fully adjust to the world around him. When it finally did, Tobias realized that there was a figure in the not-so-distant distance. He took a few quiet steps in advance before he finally realized that it was his onii-chan, Katsumi. Toby blinked a times, a rather curious look dawning upon his pale face. Katsumi looked troubled, to say the least.
In silence, Toby slowly made his way in Katsumi's direction, closing the distance between the two of them. He knew that Katsumi wasn't paying attention, and though he wanted to speak up, Toby didn't want to startle him. When he heard words cut through the air like a knife, Toby stopped moving. He bit his lip softly, thinking for a long moment before opting to go with something he hoped would lighten the mood instantly. When he spoke, his voice was soft so as not to startle Katsumi, but there was an air of playful arrogance within it. "Maybe it's because you're just too damn attractive to leave alone.. I don't know, but I'll try not to haunt you again in the future. No promises though, onii-chan."
